Programme (for children aged 18 months to 2½ years) and the Let's Listen and Talk Preschool Programme (for children aged 2½ to 5 years) are all available now.**
For those families whose children do not attend our Family Centre, our home learning and support programme guides them in helping their deaf child develop good listening and spoken language skills during their preschool years.
Baby and preschool courses
We offer two courses in our home learning programme to enable parents to support their child's growing communication skills from birth right through to the time they start school:
Helping deaf children learn to listen and talk
Each lesson gives parents a running start for their child's speech, langauge and listening development, whilst also covering key aspects of their physical, social, emotional and cognitive development.
The Home Learning Programme provides advice and guidance so parents can build a language-rich environment to help children learn to listen, develop language and establish speech during daily life and activities. The lessons also stress the importance of giving deaf children the same structure, boundaries and foundations as a hearing child in order for them to grow
up with an awareness of their environment and those around them. A deaf child develops, in most part, in total parallel with their hearing peer group.

Tailored advice from our team
You progress through the lessons entirely at your own pace and will never have to feel alone in the challenges and
hurdles that you face.
At the end of each lesson you report by email or post on how you and your child are doing and our team responds with personal letters offering support, suggestions,
answers to your questions and comments on using the lessons.
Available free of charge to all parents
Our programme is available to families throughout the UK and Ireland. It is free of charge, however there are,
of course, administrative costs incurred and donations towards the cost of these would be very gratefully received.
