16 years old, at its Family Centre.

About this service

The Elizabeth Foundation offers Specialist Speech and Language Therapy services for deaf children up to 16 years old.

These services are provided by our Specialist Speech and Language Therapists who have experience in running speech and language services for children with all degrees of deafness.

We offer both initial speech and language assessments and regular therapy sessions, provided at our Family Centre in Hampshire.

We can offer standalone assessments or assessments combined with a programme of therapy sessions tailored to each child’s individual needs.

Initial assessment

One of our Specialist Speech and Language Therapists will conduct an initial speech and language assessment session to determine the nature of your child’s needs and the areas which need to be worked on. The assessment will take around one hour and will cover:

speech
language
listening
social communication skills

The Therapist will provide a comprehensive assessment report after the initial assessment.

Ongoing therapy sessions

Following the initial assessment, our Therapist can design and then conduct an ongoing speech and language therapy sessions to focus on the needs of your child and work on specific areas of listening, speech and language development.

Each of the practical sessions will include one-to-one time with your child with guidance and advice for you on developing their communication skills and meeting their targets. Sessions will last for one hour including parental discussion.

Our Therapist will give you tasks to carry out at home and keep in touch via email between the sessions.

We charge the following fees to cover the full costs of providing this one-to-one service and to ensure that it is sustainable:

the cost of an initial one hour assessment session with report

£60

the cost for each one hour therapy session
