Give As You Earn
Donating direct from your wages using Give As You Earn
or payroll giving offers an easy and tax-efficient way
to support our work.
Donate direct from your wages
Many employers offer a payroll giving scheme – also known as Give as You Earn (GAYE) or workplace giving – to enable their employees to support charities tax-effectively direct from their salary.
If you choose to support us with payroll giving, your regular donations will help provide us with a reliable source of income which makes it easier for us to plan the provision of our services into the future.
How to get started with payroll giving
CAF Give As You Earn (run by the Charities Aid Foundation) is the leading way to donate straight from your pay.
Ask your Human Resources or Payroll Manager whether your company has signed up to CAF Give As You Earn and if so, how you can join the scheme.
If your employer has not signed up to CAF Give As You Earn, ask them if it OK for you to ask CAF to get in touch with them on your behalf to discuss the scheme.
A tax-efficient way to donate
With payroll giving, your donation comes out of your salary after your National Insurance contribution, but before Income Tax – so part of your donation comes from money that would otherwise have been taken by HMRC.
As a result we get more of your donation and it costs you less. As it is already tax-efficient, this form of donation also also means that we don’t have to claim Gift Aid, so there’s less admin involved for us.
