Inspire your students whilst supporting our work
Fundraising and raising awareness of The Elizabeth Foundation will help preschool children learn to listen and talk but more importantly there will be positive benefits for your school too!
One in 1,000 babies will be born deaf in the UK this year. With your help we can provide emotional, practical and educational support to families of deaf children from birth to 5 years in a family-centred environment or through our online Let's Listen and Talk interactive programmes.
Benefits for your school
Involvement in organising and delivering fundraising activities can help pupils to build their self esteem, give them confidence, and develop skills such as team building, critical thinking, leadership and financial awareness.
We will recognise your school and your students' achievements by sending a Certificate of Thanks and, if you would like, publicly thanking you and your students on social media.
Fundraising also offers opportunities for Head Teachers and other staff members to show themselves as positive role models by stepping outside their own comfort zones and taking part in a personal fundraising challenge such as sky-diving, abseiling, zip-wiring or taking on a sponsored run, cycle, swim or walk. Or what about sitting in a bath of baked beans?

Thank you for thinking about fundraising in your school to help deaf children find their voice.
Teaching resources about deafness
Are you looking for resources to help you teach (or learn) about the human ear, its structure and function, causes of deafness and deaf awareness? If so, we’ve got just the thing for you!
We have published new teaching resources to help support the teaching of deaf awareness to secondary age children.
The two lessons cover:
- Lesson 1: the human ear, its structure and function
- Lesson 2: causes of deafness and deaf awareness
These resources were developed by two parents whose children attended our preschool services, and one of whom is a teacher.
